Poté, co se Raymond snažil uživit na vysoké škole a v roce 1989 absolvoval Ekonomickou univerzitu Hubei, postavil továrnu a specializoval se na kovovýrobu. On a jeho rodina jezdili pravidelně kempovat, ale jeho děti nikdy nebavily spaní na zemi ve stanu. "Proč si nemůžu postavit obytný vůz ve své továrně?" pomyslel si Raymond. V roce 2008 tedy Raymond vybudoval tým RV a úspěšně vyvinul svůj první RV. Když začal zveřejňovat příspěvky na internetu, zaujalo to tolik dalších zákazníků, že Raymond usoudil, že by to mohlo být „Docela dobrý byznys, do kterého se dostat“. Dobře, že to udělal.
