雷蒙.吴在大学期间通过打工自给自足，1989年毕业于湖北经济学院后，创办了自己的工厂，专注于金属加工。尽管他一直从事与金属加工相关的工作，但户外露营一直是他和家人热爱的活动。然而，孩子们总是不喜欢在帐篷里睡在地上。“为什么不能在我的工厂里造一辆房车呢？”这个想法由此诞生。2008年，他组建了房车研发团队，并成功推出了第一款房车。当他将这款房车发布到互联网上时，迅速吸引了大量客户的关注，这让他意识到，房车行业或许是一个“值得投资的好商机”。幸运的是，他做出了这个决定。
