雷蒙德靠著打工養活了自己的大學生活，1989年從湖北經濟學院畢業後，他創辦了一家工廠，主修金屬製造。他和他的家人經常去戶外露營，但他的孩子從來不喜歡睡在帳篷的地上。 “為什麼我不能在我的工廠建造房車？”雷蒙心想。於是在2008年，雷蒙德組成了房車團隊，並成功研發了自己的第一輛房車。當他開始在網路上發文時，它引起了許多其他客戶的注意，雷蒙德認為這可能是「一個非常值得進入的行業」。他做了好事。
